As a Massachusetts wedding photographer, I love seeing couples confidently say what they are dreaming up for their special day. In these conversations I see the personality, desires and heart of my couple shine through. When I think of M+D’s elopement, that’s exactly what they did eloping at Bird Park in Walpole, MA.

When M + D first reached out to share their elopement plans, I could immediately feel the warmth and kindness in their story. As a Massachusetts wedding photographer, these moments are what reminds me how sacred and special my job is. I get to document this one of a kind love. It’s so special being able to see a couple strip everything back to focus purely on their connection, love, and the life they are making together.

On the day of their Massachusetts elopement, I met D at Bird Park, a hidden gem in Walpole. Walking through this park with D, we saw all the bright greenery, bridges, and gorgeous pathways. There were countless location options, which is a photographer’s best friend. I truly could not have picked a better location for their elopement if I tried. If you’re seeking reasons to elope at Bird Park in Walpole, let this day be your sign: it’s private, scenic, and full of so many trees, and secret photo spots- there is no way you would be disappointed here.
D + I waited for his future bride, M and their daughter to arrive for the first look. D and I chatted about the nerves and shared a few laughs. We captured a few portraits during this quiet moment, and the stillness was so reflective of the entire day… calm, meaningful, and full of anticipation.

AN EMOTIONAL FIRST LOOK
When M and their daughter arrived, it was time for a whimsical outdoor first look. This first look wasn’t just for the bride and groom, but also between D and his daughter. Cue the tears! D and his daughter shared a joyful first look, where she put on his boutonniere. M followed closely behind, bringing the three of them together to get this party started.

This whimsical outdoor elopement ceremony at Bird Park, was a great choice because they were able to be fully present with each other. And then… the vows. The part of any wedding day that always gets me. Hands down, this was one of the most powerful ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed as a Massachusetts wedding photographer. The words they shared were full of faith, truth, and unwavering love. I always joke that I can’t cry during weddings because… my eyes are my job. But on this day, I truly fought back tears the whole time.
What made this elopement even more unforgettable was the inclusion of their daughter in the vows. The promises they made were not just to each other, but to their family as a whole. Safe to say, the tears finally won.

After the ceremony, we explored Bird Park in Walpole, Massachusetts in all its greenery glory. We captured some gorgeous bridal portraits of M+D as well as portraits with their daughter. We got classic, romantic, and whimsical photos documenting every aspect of their day.

The day would not have been complete without one more stop. Now since it was a 7/11 wedding we ended the session with a fun stop at the nearest 7-Eleven for a slushy… I mean who could pass that up?!

SURPRISE!!!
Remember how I said I love seeing a couple’s personality come to life in their wedding? After the elopement, M + D hosted what their friends and family thought was an “engagement party”… but it was actually a surprise reception at Citizen Crust in Foxboro! They walked in with a “Just Married” sign, catching their loved one totally off guard in the best way. The room was instantly full of cheers, hugs, and surprised faces. We closed out the day with amazing food, laughter, and big smiles.
